CFM56-5C engine stand overview
CFM56-5C is an aircraft engine stand designed for the CFM56-5C engines. The stand's cradle separates from the base while supporting itself on the legs. The CFM56-5C type has a steel welded frame supporting tubular cradle arms. It has four retractable shock-absorbing caster assemblies with 360° swivel and weight capacities of 5,000 lbs. The stand has removable ground handling mounts for smoother engine installation. The CFM56-5 engine stand's eight built-in shock mounts that reduce vibrations and multiple tie-down rings ensure secure air and land transportation. Forklift pockets are also available on the base and cradle during transportation.
CFM56-5C engine stand functionality
The CFM56-5C engine stand is designed to protect the engine from damage during transit and provide a stable base when it is not in use. By streamlining the logistics and handling of the engine, the engine stand also enhances the efficiency of routine maintenance and overhaul (MRO) operations.
CFM56-5C engine stand design
The CFM56-5C engine stand is built with heavy-duty steel or aluminum to withstand the engine's great weight. It is tailored to fit its dimensions and mounting points, ensuring a stable hold. Often with brakes, durable wheels allow easy movement and secure positioning during transportation and storage, while secure safety latches and locking mechanisms ensure safe handling.
